ABOUT

NEON.URBAN Academy is a new learning and capability-building service designed to help local councils, planners, urban designers, and landscape architect professionals navigate the complex digital transformation of public places, precincts and cities and infrastructure.

TRAINING
NEON.URBAN offers a series of training programs covering a number topics related to the planning, design and management of our precincts, communities and cities.

Grounded in real-world practice and policy insight, the Academy delivers practical guidance, frameworks, and case studies across four future-critical areas:

  1. Planning for Digital Connectivity – Equip councils with the knowledge and tools to integrate digital infrastructure (like fibre, 5G and smart poles) into land use and infrastructure planning from day one.

  2. Digitally-Enabled Precinct Development – Explore emerging best practice for embedding digital thinking in precinct planning, from data strategies to digital twins and beyond.

  3. Ethical Technology & AI in Public Places – Learn how to deploy sensors, AI and digital technologies in ways that build public trust through transparency, participation and ethical design, using the open source international standard - Digital Trust for Places and Routines.

  4. Urban Robotics Readiness – Prepare your city for the future of movement with practical guidance on how to plan for and manage the safe, productive deployment of public area mobile robots (PMRs).

Through interactive workshops, curated toolkits and peer-to-peer learning, NEON.URBAN Academy turns complexity into capability, helping local governments and urban leaders shape future-ready projects and policy.
